barbie dream house

The real life Barbie Dreamhouse!

I have seen some incredible homes in my time but never anything quite as spectacular as this. As an avid Barbie fan, (even now) I can’t quite believe my eyes! In honour of Barbie’s 50th birthday, designer Jonathan Adler created this homage to the princess of pink!

The Barbie Lounge
With its lack of colour coordination this room should be a design nightmare  but the eccentricity and charm of this living room makes it a winner.
The corseted tutu chairs are a fantastic design feature and the attention detail is quite astonishing. I am also intrigued by the chandeleir, which, unless my eyes are decieiving me seems to be made out of real hair! The pop art canvas, the pristine pink furnishings, the loud animal prints! It should be too much but it isn’t!

The Barbie ‘boudoir’
I imagine this room to be every little girl’s dream, and as a grown woman it is still my dream. Although it’s predictable with its grandure, pink furnishings, and draping ceiling , it really is fit for a princess!

  The Barbie terrace
As you would imagine this fabulous terrace is perfect for a lady of leisure. An idyllic setting for sunbathing/ partying and relaxing. With it’s pink carpet and ultra modern furnishings you almost forget that it is a garden!

dolly

these dolls i never used to like but i think they are going to be my new obsesion!Pink and black dress for Pullip - Little Lénie
Pullip is a collectible fashion doll created by Cheonsang Cheonha of South Korea in 2003. Pullip has an oversized head on a jointed plastic body, with eyes that can change positions and wink. Pullip was first marketed by Jun Planning of Japan, but since early 2009, it has been marketed by Groove of Korea. Pullip (풀잎) means 'blade of grass/leaf' in Korean. Since the release of the original female doll, other lines of dolls have been added: male companion dolls Namu (나무, tree) and Taeyang (태양, sun), his younger sister doll Dal (달, moon), and Dal's best friend Byul (별, star). Since 2011 the doll series gained a new member Isul (dew), who is supposedly Pullip's little brother. There is also a miniature line of Little Pullip and Little Dal. (Now called Little Pullip/Dal+) Pullip dolls are often customized. Later releases have wigs that can be replaced and the eye color can easily be changed.

Coraline Halloween costume

Coraline Costume

I thought that Coraline would be a fantastic costume for Halloween!

Instead of some cookie cutter costume that is cheaply made and costs a fortune,
wouldn't something creative and different be perfect?

A simple yellow raincoat and boots, some blue hair spray or blue wig, a pair of
jeans and a dragonfly hair clip and you have a great costume and an outfit that
can be useful for more than just one night of Trick-or-Treating!

And if you want to go all out, check out these great items I found at Etsy!
