Laura's Diary ~ Book Review

When you think of a book written as a diary I am willing to bet that a majority of people (unless you are a huge diary lover) will think of the world famous Anne Franks Diary. Which don't get me wrong is an amazing book. I have to admit I'm not really that huge of a diary lover, that is up until now, recently I was just browsing the clearance section in WHsmith (never a good idea) and picked out a couple of books that really caught my eye. One of witch was a book called 'Laura's Diary'.

No exaggeration the second I got home I started reading. An hour or two hater I had finished it. I am actually quite a slow reader so that is quite unusual for me. This is a very quick read. I also thought this was quite funny and flowed really well. Considering this wasn't actually intended on being read by other people it was quite amazing.

I really found myself relating to Laura. Some of the things she writes (e.g. the tally were she was judging boys) was exactly the same as my diary from a few years ago. By the time I had finished the book I felt as though I actually knew her.

I also really liked the way this books looked. I loved that the actual text wasn't typed up and that it was actually a copy of her handwriting, it even included a little doodle on every other page.

As this book is a diary of over 10 years I was concerned with how they would link the years and weather it would seen a little bit disjointed and therefore become confusing. However I was really please as to how they had edited this together and I actually didn't even really notice that any time had past.

As a whole I gave this book 4/5 stars on 'Goodreads' as I did really enjoy it. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a really light read. Maybe even if you haven't read many diary books and are trying to get into them I would say that this is a great way to get started.

Cute skater skirt with a grungy vibe

So I just decided to go for a bit of a different look today.

I actually really like how this turned out.I know some people wont like the contrast between the girly and the more grungy (top). I actually really like how it turned out.

I will start with the accessories, I am wearing this authentic vintage bead necklace that I actually got given from my great auntie (I don't know where you can find one).

I am then wearing my new watch from urban Outfitters. I then matched this mint purse from primark to match the skirt. I have found a similar one here.

My shoes I got from H&M I think you can also get them in black (which I think would work better here) and pink.

My Jumper is from Internacionale (no longer available) I just tucked it into my skirt to give it a baggy and more relaxed look. It also shows off the waist of the skater skirt and gives more shape.
I am wearing a simple black tights; as you can seen it is raining and cold :(
My skirt is also from H&M from the kids section years ago. I only rediscovered this a few weeks ago.
My hair is just curled with my remington curling wand.

Hope you enjoyed this post, if you did please remember to  thanks ;)

Collection 2000 Cream Puff ~ Lip creams

I recently re-discovered the collection 2000 cream puff lip creams. I just really wanted to wear a pink lip and when rummaging in my lip draw I came across it and suddenly remembered how much I love this product. Last summer (no exaggeration) I wore this every single day.

So here is a swatch of the pink one that is my favourite, in the shade 'Cotton Candy'. This colour is a really nice soft pink. Though what I love about this product is that they are really buildable. You can make the colour really soft or really vibrant just by     applying them differently.

The swatch here shows my other cream puff in the shade 'Powder Puff' This colour is a nude colour and is a great alternative to wearing a concealer or foundation on your lips. You could also use this as a base before applying a colour to make the colour more bold. To be honest I really don't know what I was thinking when I bought this product (in this shade), I am way too pale to pull this off. Though I have gotten my use out of it as I have used it in many of my videos. I can't say I didn't like it as it is the same formula to the 'Cotton Candy' shade though just personally the colour was all wrong for me. For a nude I thought: it wasn't orangie, it didn't dry out my
lips, it looked really natural and it was really pigmented. So I think this would
be worth a go if you like a nude lip.
Here is a swatch of both of the shades I own side by side.

Here are the same swatches just blended out. As you can see they do blend really well.

As this product is a powder when it dries, I have actually been using it as a blush. It blends really well. I just put a few dots in a diagonal line on my cheek and then blend. You could even use a kabuki brush. I have found that the colour of 'cotton candy' is literally identical to the powder blush from natural collection in the shade 'pink cloud' that I have been adoring recently. So the cream puff could be a replacement, especially if I am travelling as it is smaller and is a 2 in 1.
